Promotion Coupon
The Promotion Coupon feature in Optopro allows you to create coupon-based promotional offers that can be shared with patients and redeemed during billing. Coupons provide flexibility to run targeted marketing campaigns, offer special discounts, and control how and where promotional discounts can be applied.
Creating a Promotion Coupon
To create a coupon-based promotion, configure the following details:
Promo Code
Define a unique code for the promotion that patients can use during purchase.
Example:WELCOME20SUMMER100
The promo code can be shared with selected patients or used as part of a promotional campaign.
Discount Type
Configure the discount benefit provided by the coupon.
Discount Percentage
Apply a percentage-based discount to eligible products.
Example:20% Off
Discount Amount
Apply a fixed dollar amount discount.
Example:$100 Off
Only one discount type needs to be configured based on the promotional offer.
Applicable Products
Select the product categories where the coupon discount can be applied.
Apply On:
- Frame
- Lens
- Contact Lens
- Extra
- Item
- Service
You can select one or multiple product types depending on the promotion requirements.
Example:
A coupon can be configured as:
- Promo Code:
LENS50 - Applicable Product: Lens
- Discount: $50 Off
This allows patients to receive $50 off eligible lens purchases only.
Coupon Assignment & Usage Rules
Optopro allows you to control how and when a coupon can be redeemed.
Assign Coupon to a Patient
A coupon can be assigned to a specific patient, allowing only that patient to use the promotion.
Example:
- Patient: John Smith
- Promo Code:
JOHN100 - Discount: $100 Off
Valid Until Date
Set an expiry date for the coupon.
After the expiry date, the coupon will no longer be available for redemption.
Example:
- Valid Until: December 31, 2026
Usage Limit
Control the number of times a coupon can be used.
Options include:
- Single-use coupon
- Multiple-use coupon
- Limited number of invoice uses
Example:
- Maximum Usage: 1 Invoice
Applying Promotion Coupons
During invoice creation, staff can enter the promo code to apply the discount.
Optopro automatically validates:
- Coupon code validity
- Expiry date
- Patient eligibility (if assigned)
- Usage limits
- Applicable product categories
If all conditions are satisfied, the discount is automatically applied to the invoice.

Note: Coupon-based promotions require a valid, active coupon code unless configured for automatic application.
